Rosch Trittenheimer Apotheke GG Selection 2022 is a serious dry Riesling from one of the Mosel’s classic steep-slope vineyards, produced from 100% Riesling in Trittenheim. The Apotheke’s slate-rich terroir and steep exposure give the wine a combination of ripe fruit, vibrant acidity and pronounced mineral character. Rosch’s 2022 Grosses Gewächs is a firmly dry wine, with 13% alcohol, 5.5 g/L residual sugar and 6.1 g/L acidity, giving it a precise and balanced profile.

The 2022 shows an expressive bouquet of ripe peach, yellow apple and citrus fruit, complemented by delicate herbal, floral and slate-mineral notes. On the palate it is dry, concentrated and energetic, with generous stone-fruit character supported by vibrant acidity and a distinct saline, stony minerality. The texture is finely balanced between richness and freshness, while the long finish brings together ripe fruit, herbs and a subtle slate-driven savouriness. Rosch describes the wine as opulent in fruit yet elegant and distinctly mineral, with the dry style giving it a particularly clear and focused finish.

The wine is spontaneously fermented, with the emphasis on preserving the character of the steep vineyard rather than adding overt winemaking flavour. The 2022 was highly regarded in the German wine press, receiving 93 points from Eichelmann and 90 points from Vinum.

At only four years from vintage, the 2022 is still very youthful, and its combination of acidity, mineral structure and concentrated fruit suggests considerable ageing potential. It can be enjoyed now for its energetic citrus and stone-fruit character, but 5–10 years of bottle development should bring greater complexity, including dried citrus, honey, herbs, smoke and deeper flinty-mineral nuances. A refined and gastronomic dry Mosel Riesling, particularly well suited to shellfish, grilled fish, lobster, poultry, asparagus, creamy dishes and aromatic Asian cuisine.
