Planted by \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003eDon Giacomo Cauda in 1964\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, this is the oldest Ruchè vineyard in the area and the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003eonly officially recognised cru within the Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato DOCG\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. Since 2016, Luca Ferraris has been responsible for preserving and developing this remarkable old-vine site, continuing the work of the priest who helped rescue Ruchè from obscurity.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"isSelectedEnd\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe 2017 shows the variety's wonderfully distinctive aromatic character, with an expressive bouquet of \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003erose petals and violets\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, layered with \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003eripe plum, blackberry, raspberry and black pepper\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. With bottle age, the floral perfume becomes increasingly intertwined with \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003edried flowers, tobacco, balsamic herbs and subtle earthy spice\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. On the palate it is \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003edry, supple and beautifully rounded\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, combining generous dark and red fruit with soft tannins, lively freshness and a long, savoury finish.
