Nett - Chardonnay GRAND GOLD Dealcoholised
Chardonnay GRAND GOLD is the top wine in the alcohol-free range of Bergdolt-Reif & Nett, representing the winery’s most ambitious approach to dealcoholised wine. This sophisticated Chardonnay from the Pfalz has received outstanding recognition in international alcohol-free wine competitions, reflecting its exceptional quality and wine-like character. Grown on fertile loess-loam soils, it is matured in a distinctive combination of 75% oak and 25% granite, followed by a further six months in stainless steel. With only 0.20% alcohol and just 13.6 g/L residual sugar, it is a notably dry and elegant expression of dealcoholised Chardonnay.
The nose is refined and expressive, showing ripe apple, delicate peach and subtle banana, with further hints of citrus and light stone fruit. On the palate, it is juicy and remarkably fresh, with lively acidity, fine mineral precision and a smooth, well-integrated texture. Lime, peach and ripe apple provide the fruit core, while the granite and oak maturation contribute additional depth without overpowering the wine. The finish is clean, refreshing and distinctly mineral, with a restrained, French-influenced Chardonnay character that gives the wine considerably more sophistication than its alcohol-free status might suggest.
A particularly versatile wine for the table, this Chardonnay pairs beautifully with grilled fish, seafood, light meats, salads and savoury snacks. Its combination of freshness, subtle richness and mineral structure also makes it an excellent choice as a more serious alcohol-free aperitif.
