Pinot Noir BREAKAWAY is a remarkably authentic alcohol-free red wine from Bergdolt-Reif & Nett in the Pfalz, made from Pinot Noir (Spätburgunder) and matured in wooden barrels. The wine retains the unmistakable character of the grape, with vibrant red-fruit aromas, a soft texture and very restrained tannins. At just 0.20% alcohol, it is an unusually convincing expression of Pinot Noir without the weight of alcohol.

The wine shows a beautiful deep red colour with darker reflections, while the nose is dominated by ripe cherry and Morello cherry, with further nuances of red berries. On the palate, the cherry character continues, supported by fresh but elegant acidity that gives the wine energy without becoming sharp. The texture is soft, rounded and mouth-filling, with barely noticeable tannins and a clean, refreshing finish. The clear varietal character makes this an especially easy wine to recognise as Pinot Noir, even without the alcohol.

Although enjoyable at the traditional red-wine temperature, this Pinot Noir can also be served slightly chilled, making it an excellent choice for warm summer evenings, light meals, grilled dishes and relaxed outdoor gatherings. A light and elegant alternative to alcoholic red wine that never feels heavy.
