Nett - Pinot Blanc BREAKAWAY Dealcoholised
Pinot Blanc BREAKAWAY is an ambitious and complex alcohol-free white wine from Bergdolt-Reif & Nett in the Pfalz, made from Pinot Blanc (Weißburgunder) and matured in 500-litre wooden barrels, both new and used. The barrel ageing gives this wine considerably more depth and texture than a typical alcohol-free white, while retaining the natural freshness and elegance of Pinot Blanc. At just 0.20% alcohol, it offers an impressively complete and wine-like character.
The nose is expressive and layered, showing ripe apple, peach, citrus and white flowers, with more subtle notes of chamomile, yellow fruit and a stony minerality. On the palate, the wine is juicy and rounded, with crisp citrus freshness and lively, well-integrated acidity. The combination of ripe fruit, fine phenolic texture and gentle barrel influence creates a dense, harmonious and remarkably satisfying finish. Falstaff awarded the wine 91 points in 2025, highlighting its complexity, ripe fruit, subtle spice and juicy structure; the previous 2024 tasting received 92 points.
This is one of the more serious wines in the Bergdolt-Reif & Nett alcohol-free range and works particularly well with summer salads, pan-seared fish, seafood and Asian dishes featuring citrus, ginger or light spices. It is equally enjoyable as an elegant aperitif when you want a more substantial alcohol-free wine with genuine texture and depth.
